Prize fulfilment and disqualification

  1. Prizes are as stated, they are not transferable and there are no alternative prizes or cash substitutes.  Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event that the selected prize is unavailable for any reason whatsoever.
  2. A winner forfeits their prize and the Promoter reserves the right to select at random an alternative winner if:
  1. within 3 weeks of being notified by the Promoter, a winner does not respond or does not provide their full name and relevant details (if applicable, details for the prize to be despatched to in the eligible country of residence); or
  2. if a prize is rejected or returned undeliverable; or
  3. if an entry is invalid or an entrant is disqualified or in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

Any personal information that entrants share with the Promotor (including name, address, email, social media profile, or other data) will be kept secure and only used in line with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy and these Terms. By entering the prize draw, entrants acknowledge that their information may be used by the Promotor and its suppliers to administer the promotion. Limitation of Liability

Eligibility

Great Britain residents aged 18 + only. Entrants must have internet access and an Instagram account.

How to Enter Requirements

Create a video that that best exemplifies your talent and expertise as a cosmetic artist and provide a tutorial showing your transformation of yourself into a “NYX Cosmetics Doll”. You must also take a photo of your final transformed look (the tutorial video and photo together being your "Submission"). The video can be a pre-existing video or one created specifically for this contest.

In order to enter the competition:

  1. Post the photo of your final transformation on Instagram and include #NYXCosmetics_UK #DollSearchUK #Contest in the caption;
  2. Post your tutorial video to IGTV (you can use the IGTV app or select “Long Video” when uploading to the Instagram app) and include the #NYXCosmetics_UK #DollSearchUK #Contest in the caption;
  3. Your account settings for both Instagram and IGTV must remain public during the duration of the Promotion; and
  4. You must have the same handle for your Instagram account and IGTV account so that the Promoter will be able to find your video Submission.  You must not change your Instagram handle on either account during the duration of the Promotion.

By submitting your Submission in accordance with the above entrance criteria, entrants agree to be automatically entered into the competition and abide by these Terms and Conditions (as set out in this table and the General Terms and Conditions below).

One Submission per person. Your Submission will be used for all of the phases of the competition (UK Round, UK Public Vote and Global Round), entrants who make it to subsequent phases of the competition will not be required to produce new Submissions for each phase.

Submission requirements and restrictions

  • The video aspect of your Submission must:
    • not exceed fifteen (15) minutes; and
    • not include music.
  • Your Submission must be in English.
  • Your Submission must be your own original work.
  • Your Submission must not contain any content not created by you.
  • You may not use a model - your Submission must show you putting cosmetics on your own face.
  • Your Submission must not feature anyone other than you (the entrant).
  • You may not make any claims or beliefs (positive or negative) about any product or its performance in your Submission.
  • You may not make any statement about a brand other than the Promoter’s (including mere reference of its use).
  • Submissions must not disparage the Promoter or any other person.
  • You may use any cosmetic products you like, however brand names and logos of products other than the Promoter’s must not be displayed or mentioned in your video.
  • Submissions must not contain brand names or trademarks other than those owned by the Promoter.

Submissions which do not comply with the above requirements and those set out in the General Terms and Conditions below will be disqualified.

Judging Criteria and Voting Mechanic

UK Round Judging:

A panel of 3 qualified judges including at least 2 independent judges shall select 6 (six) UK entrants with the highest-scoring video Submissions (the "UK Finalists") from among all eligible UK Submissions based on the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”): 

  • 30% Creativity of the look created;
  • 30% Educational value of the video tutorial;
  • 30% Artistry in makeup application as demonstrated within the video; and
  • 10% Quality of the video production.

In the event of a tie, the entrant whose video Submission received the highest score for “creativity of the look” as determined by the qualified judges, in their sole discretion, will be deemed the applicable UK Finalist. In the event of a tied high score in “creativity of the look” the tied high scores will be re-judged and the one with the highest score will be deemed the UK Finalist. Promoter reserves the right to select fewer than six (6) UK Finalists, if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible Submissions.

The UK Finalists will be put to a public vote (subject to entrant compliance with the Notification of Winners requirements below).

UK Round Public Vote:  

The voting is open to anyone from the general public, excluding competition entrants and individuals otherwise excluded pursuant to the General Terms and Conditions below. Voters should vote for their favourite video. Only 1 (one) vote per email address is permitted.  

Voting is open via nyxcosmetics.co.uk

All voting activity must be legitimate and fair. Fraudulent or deceptive voting practices are not permitted and may lead to disqualification. For the avoidance of doubt this includes, but is not limited to, soliciting votes using unconventional methods, using any automated program and/or offering payment for votes and/or any other irregular voting practice. The Promoter may disqualify any entrant who it deems in its reasonable opinion subverts legitimate voting practices and no correspondence will be entered into.

In the event of a tie between one or more UK Finalists, the UK Finalist who had earned the highest score based on the Judging Criteria will be deemed the UK Round winner.

The winner of the UK Round will be entered into the Global Round and receive an assortment of NYX Professional Makeup products (see Prizes above), subject to entrant compliance with the Notification of Winners requirements below.

Global Round Judging:

Pro makeup artist Mimi Choi will judge the submissions of the Global Finalists using the Judging Criteria to choose a winner of the Global Round.

The winner of the Global Round will win $5,000 cash (see Prizes above), subject to entrant compliance with the Notification of Winners requirements below.

Judging Panel

Notification of Winner(s)

UK Round Judging: The UK Finalists will be notified by the Promoter by Instagram direct message on or around 18/10/2020 and will be required to respond within twenty-four (24) hours providing the Promoter with their name, email address, home mailing address and date of birth to confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements.

If the entrant does not respond via the above route(s) after 6 hours of the Promoter’s initial contact being made, by providing the required information, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative UK Finalist.

UK Round Public Vote: The winner of the UK Round will be contacted by email on 22/10/2020 and notified of their win by the Promoter. The winner of the UK Round will be asked to respond to the email within twenty-four (24) hours in order to claim the prize.

If the UK Round winner does not respond via the above route(s) within the timeframes specified, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to the UK-Finalist with the next highest number of votes.

Global Round: The winner of the Global Round will be announced on 27/10/2020 via @nyxcosmetics_uk Instagram channel and will be contacted by email by the Promoter.
