THE UK’S LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY THE UK’S BLACK & POC LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY

IN PROUD PARTNERSHIP WITH:

LIVE PROUDLY
THIS PRIDE
PRIDE ISN’T ABOUT PRODUCTS. PRIDE IS ABOUT PEOPLE.
This year’s Pride season came at a time where our queer community - especially our trans siblings - are facing more noise, more scrutiny, and more discrimination than ever before. We knew that silence was not an option during this time, and we felt that the LGBTQIA+ community needed our platform, our love & our unwavering support.
That is why this year, we teamed up with the incredible contemporary artist Thomas Lelu, to help us create a set of simple yet powerful artworks that would send a strong message of empowerment and affirmation to the LGBTQIA+ community. Our message is:
Beauty isn’t about fitting in – it's about standing out, speaking up and showing the world exactly who you are. There is beauty in your difference, joy in your uniqueness, power in your identity – it is a light in you that should never be dimmed
We hear you. We see you. We are Proudly Pro-You. And this Pride season, we want to remind you that you have every right to Be Proud & #LiveProudly.
Have you seen one of our artworks on your feed? Did you scroll and see one of our incredible creators share their own message of empowerment on social media? Or perhaps you may have seen our artworks on a billboard somewhere. Wherever you may have come across our message, we encourage you to encourage your LGBTQIA+ community to #LiveProudly this Pride season.
Proudly Pro You

LADY PHYLL
CEO of UK Black Pride
"The Community Action Fund evidences what our communities have long known: when we have the resources we need to create what we need, the results are tremendous. I am very proud of our inaugural recipients, each of whom is doing vital work in communities across the country and who have been overlooked, underestimated, and underfunded. My hope is that the CAF continues to centre, celebrate and fund those with creative and innovative solutions to systemic change."
WHAT OUR COMMUNITY TOLD US
In March 2021, NYX Professional Makeup funded critical formal research known as the "We Will Be Heard" survey with UK Black Pride and Stonewall to understand the key barriers facing the Black & POC LGBTQIA+ community. We wanted to get clear on how we could help:
